Leah’s extensive training includes an 18-month postgraduate orthopedic clinical residency program through Physical Therapy First and a year-long certification in Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Therapy (COMT) from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Along with only 6% of PTs in the US, she achieved board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS). Leah’s Trigger Point Dry Needling certification (CMTPT/DN) required another four months of training with Myopain Seminars. Her pelvic floor training is from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.
Leah’s expertise includes chronic pain, spine disorders, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), dance rehab.
Because she makes lifelong learning a cornerstone of her clinical practice, Leah is credentialed as a Clinical Instructor by American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), giving her top-notch mentorship skills to train the next generation of physical therapists. She routinely mentors physical therapy graduate student interns and has been a guest instructor at the University of Maryland Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Leah has more than a decade of dance experience and has taught ballet, jazz, and modern dance. When she’s not at work, you’ll find Leah practicing partner acrobatics and taking care of her house plants. She is fluent in Spanish.
